Edvard Grieg (1843–1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist who brought the folk music of Norway into the concert hall. His incidental music for Ibsen's play Peer Gynt gave the world Morning Mood and In the Hall of the Mountain King, two of the most recognisable melodies ever written. The recording here was made for Musopen and released into the public domain.
